Beit Shabab – The church of St John the Baptist

بُنيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر فوق بقايا هيكل رومانيّ على يد الخوري يرد الحدشيتي. أواخر القرن التاسع عشر أُعيد بناؤها على يد الخوري مخايل الخوري يونس وأُتِمَّ سنة ١٨٩٩. اللوحات الثلاث الرئيسيّة من عمل داود القرم، أمّا الجداريّات فهي أحدث عهدًا تعود لمنتصف القرن العشرين وهي من عمل مالك شحيبر طوق.

The church was first built in the 17th century over the ruins of a roman temple by Fr. Yard of Hadshit. During the 19th century the church was rebuilt by Fr. Mikhael el Khoury Younes in 1899. The three main paintings were done by Dawoud al Qorm, The murals are more recent from the mid 20th century by Malek Chehaiber Tawk.

دير سيّدة المرج (دير القلاية) - لحفد

بُني الدّير أوساط القرن الثاني عشر ليسكن فيه أسقف معاون للبطريرك يوحنّا اللحفديّ. أوائل القرن الخامس عشر سكنه المطران يعقوب. خرب هذا الدير ولم يبقَ منه سوى الكنيسة التي تجدّد بناؤها أوساط القرن التاسع عشر. الكنيسة كناية عن عقدٍ مُصالب بحنية مكوّرة. تحوي الكنيسة على العديد من الحجارة المنقوشة والمُشفّرة من بنائها القديم. في هذه الكنيسة تعمّد الأخ اسطفان نعمة اللحفدي.

The Monastery of Our Lady of Marj (Deir al Qalaya) - Lehfed

The monastery was built in the mid XIIth century for an assistant bishop to Patriarch Youhanna al Lehfidi to live in. In the early XVth century, it was inhabited by Bishop Yaacoub. The monastery was abandoned and only the church remained, which was rebuilt in the mid XIXth century. The church's structure consists of a crossed vault with a hemispherical apse. The church contains many carved and encrypted stones from its old construction. Brother Estephan Nehme was baptized in this church.

Al Wardiyeh Church, Deir El Qamar, Lebanon

كنيسة سيّدة الورديّة الدلغانة - دير القمر

بنيت في ثلاثينيّات القرن الثامن عشر، وأتمّ البناء سنة ١٧٦٠ على يد الأب متّى الحكيم الحلبيّ طبيب أمراء دير القمر. تُلاصق الكنيسة كابيلا سيّدة الرحمة وهي تعود للنصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر. تحوي الكنيسة على العديد من اللوحات التصويريّة أهمّها لوحة سيّدة الورديّة وهي من عمل كنعان ديب الدلبتاوي سنة ١٨٦٤، ومار يوسف لنجيب شكري تعود لسنة ١٩١٠.

The church of Our Lady of the Rosary El Delghane - Deir el Qamar

The church was built in the third decade of the the XVIIIth century. The construction was concluded in 1760 under the supervision of Fr Matta el Hakim from Aleppo who was the personal doctor of Deir el Qamar’s princes. Adjacent to the church stands a small chapel dedicated to our Lady of Mercy dating back to the second half of the XIXth century. The church holds many paintings inculding Our Lady of the Rosary by Kanaan Dib dating back to 1864 and St Joseph by Najib Chukry dating back to 1910.
